Deadline Dealing?

Mark Feinsand and Bill Madden of the New York Daily News have a good run down of things leading up to four p.m. today. The Red Sox are supposedly in "full pursuit" of Adrian Gonzalez, and may get Heath Bell in the deal too (if it happens). Sean McAdam discusses Theo Epstein's want to make a deal, any deal, that can help his team right themselves.

According to SI's Jon Heyman, the Mets are interestd in Victor Martinez but not for their top prospects.

The latest team to try and pull off a deal for Roy Halladay is Texas. I am sure Nolan Ryan would love to see his team finally have an ace again.

The Yankees are still pursuing Jarrod Washburn, but have given the Mariners a shortened list of prospect that does NOT include Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes, Jesus Montero, or Austin Jackson. Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times pulls some of the details together.
