Saturday, in the park,

Before I head out to "the Stadium", I have to go to the dentist. It doesn't seem fair really. And then I realize that I was the one who made the appointment.

New York beat the Tigers five to three in the Bronx. The New York Daily News questions where or not Phil Hughes is being stretched BACK out to join the rotation. The Yanks really need to figure out where their young pitching is going to be.

The Atlanta Braves retire Greg Maddux's 31. Then his former team went out and crushed the Mets, eleven to nothing at Turner Field.

If you've followed my blog for any length of time, you will realize that I believe that Albert Pujols is a pretty good baseball player. Two more homers last night for King Albert, couple that with a strong start with Chris Carpenter, and you have yourself a Cards win. Final score six to one St. Louis.

Roy Oswalt helps the Astros continue their surge, firing a complete game four hitter in a eight to one win over the Dodgers.. He yielded just one run. The Astros moved into a three way tie for second place in the National League Central Division.

Boston starter Clay Bulcholz proves he is a ready for prime-time (again). Bulcholz pitched the Red Sox towards a four to one win over the Blue Jays.

No commentary today as I have to go face the dentist. Wish me luck and I will have more later.

Hughes needs to start and Joba to pen. Plain and simple really. Why the F don't the guys that make millions know this? Better question, why don't I make millions!!

Until Joba fails as a starter, he should not be in then pen. Plain and simple really.

Bad timing on this after yesterday's start, which I see you conviently waited for...but apparently we are calling an avg start of 5 and 1/3 IP and killing our bullpen NOT failing as a starter??

If you put Joba in the pen? Who takes his starting spot? Hughes? We've seen Hughes struggle, too.

But getting back to Joba. He is 23 years old. Twenty-three years old. He has something like 88 total innings pitches in the minors. He's learning to pitch in the major leagues -- of course he's going to have his hiccups. Who wouldn't?

Johan Santana knows far too much about hiccups when he was 23 years old. Two years later and Johan is celebrating a CY Young award.

I'm not saying Joba is the next Johan, but come on, are we really giving up on what Joba could be to fill a roll in the bullpen? When bullpens are typically made up of journeymen and failed starters?
