TGIF

Not going to lie, it has been a rough week at the old day job. Even more reason for the MLB Network to bring me into the fold over there. I'd appreciate each minute of it! On to the show...

Sorry Mets fans... it COULD get worse. Pedro may sign with the Phillies. Bob Ford of the Philly Inquirerer doesn't think the Phillies need Pedro.

I am sure you've seen it, but the Pirates are apparently "pushing hard" to trade Freddy Sanchez.

Some interesting story lines last night...

Timmy Lincecum took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. It ended there, as did his scoreless innings streak, but the Giants got the win, ten to three over the Padres. Lincecum struck out eight over six and a-third, giving up three runs on three hits and four walks.

Luke Hovechar gets the win over the Red Sox in Boston, eight to six. Hochevar wasn't great, but good enough over six for the victory. He went six innings, giving up nine hits and five runs. Kansas City scored four in the sixth to take the lead.

The Yankees beat the Twins in Minnesota six to four. Alfredo Aceves didn't last long in the spot start, but the bullpen stitched together five and two-thirds scoreless innings to secure the victory. New York's win, coupled with the Red Sox loss, moves the Yankees back into a tie for first in the AL East.

The Marlins scored 14 unanaswered runs to overtake a seven to nothing Arizona lead, scoring ten in the eighth. Final score was 14 to seven. The Marlins sit just two back of the NL East leading Phillies.

Back with more later...
