Jonathan Papelbon has set the BoSox all time saves mark. He closed down the O's yesterday after Boston came back from a five to one deficit. The Sox won six to five in eleven innings.
The Yankees win streak reaches seven games, beating Seattle four to two at Yankee Stadium. Andy Pettitte was solid, going seven, giving up two hits on six runs for the W. Ken Griffey Junior hit a home run to right. The only reason I mention this is because he STILL has one of the sweetest swings in baseball. And you have to wonder what numbers he'd have if he stayed healthy.
The Rangers had a walk off win, triumphing over the Angels on Hank Blalock's second homer of the game. Blalock has been a great story this year, coming back from injury.
The Cardinals also had a walk off win. Colby Rasmus came through for St. Louis in extras against the Giants. Adam Wainwright pitched 9 brilliant innings of baseball, and didn't factor in the decision.
